Energy Bars for Long Shifts
A 12-hour shift rarely leaves room for a sit-down meal. STAT was built by surgeons who needed something that fits in a scrub pocket, survives a long day, and gives them a clear number for protein and caffeine. Here is how to evaluate any bar for shift work — and where STAT lands.
Allergens: Contains milk and soy. Some flavours contain peanuts or tree nuts.

1. It has to fit where you actually keep it
Scrub pockets, duty belts, flight bags, and cab consoles are all small and all warm. A bar that crumbles, melts, or needs refrigeration will not make it to hour eight.
STAT Bars ship in a single-serve wrapper sized for a scrub pocket and are shelf-stable, so a couple can live in your locker or bag between shifts.
2. Protein you can count on one hand
When a bar is standing in for a missed meal, protein grams matter more than the marketing on the front. Look for a clearly stated number rather than a vague 'high protein' claim.
Each STAT Bar delivers 16-19g of protein depending on flavor: Chocolate 16g, Peanut Butter Espresso 17g, Salted Caramel Coffee 19g.
3. Caffeine in a number, not a mystery
Shift workers are usually stacking coffee across a day, so an unlabeled caffeine dose makes it hard to keep track. Pick bars that print the milligrams.
Every STAT flavor contains 100mg of natural caffeine — roughly one cup of coffee — so the math stays simple. The FDA notes up to 400mg per day is generally considered safe for healthy adults.
4. Dietary fiber and a short ingredient list
Fiber content and a readable ingredient list are the two fastest ways to separate a real food bar from a candy bar in a foil wrapper.
STAT uses real cocoa and coffee, with cordyceps in Peanut Butter Espresso and reishi in Salted Caramel Coffee, and no synthetic caffeine. Full ingredient breakdowns are on the What's Inside page.
5. A rotation you will not get bored of
The bar you stop eating by week three is not the right bar. Three flavors is usually enough variety to keep a locker stash going.
Many shift workers set up a subscription so a box arrives every two weeks without a reorder task on a day off.
