How we formulate
We start from the label and work backwards. Every ingredient has to earn its place on the panel, and the panel has to be something we would be comfortable handing to a colleague who reads it closely. That means no proprietary blends hiding behind a single line, no caffeine total you have to reverse-engineer, and no claims we cannot stand behind. The bars are food products with a Nutrition Facts panel, manufactured in accordance with FDA food regulations — not dietary supplements.
Texture took the longest. A bar that is technically correct and unpleasant to chew at hour eleven does not get eaten, and a bar that does not get eaten does nothing. We ran flavor and texture rounds with people working the shifts we designed for — nurses, residents, medics, night-shift techs — and kept iterating until the bars came back empty rather than half-finished.
Our three flavors — Chocolate, Peanut Butter Espresso and Salted Caramel Coffee — came out of that process. Each contains culinary mushroom and botanical ingredients such as Maca, Ashwagandha and Cordyceps, which have a long history of traditional use in foods and beverages.
